Guidelines for Dosing INTEGRILIN®
Appropriate dosing of INTEGRILIN® is based on creatinine clearance (CrCl) in patients with UA/NSTEMI or patients undergoing PCI. CrCl takes into account the patient’s age, gender, weight, and serum creatinine and is a more accurate estimate of renal function (and, hence, of dose adjustment) than serum creatinine alone.1
Calculating CrCl with Cockcroft-Gault Equation
The Cockcroft-Gault equation is used to calculate CrCl. In patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency (CrCl <50 mL/min) the clearance of INTEGRILIN® is reduced by approximately 50% and steady-state plasma levels are approximately doubled. The INTEGRILIN® infusion should be reduced by half (to 1 mcg/kg/min).1
